JOB SUMMARY

Southern Nazarene University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a graduate assistant coach for the SNU Athletics Strength & Conditioning Program. The University is a member of the NCAA DII Great American Conference. The successful candidate will have mature, growing relationship with Christ and collegiate some collegiate strength & conditioning experience. Applicants must be willing to lead strength & conditioning training plans for a variety of sports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Head Coach in providing leadership for the SNU Athletics Strength & Conditioning Program.
  • Play an integral role in the day-to-day administrative responsibilities and player/team training plans
  • This position must work within SNU, GAC, and NCAA DII guidelines to provide student-athletes with an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.

Required Qualifications:

  • Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene.   • College undergraduate completion
  • Minimum of one to two years of related work experience and/or relevant training
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in fast-paced work environment
  • Typing and spelling competency
  • Experience with various computer software applications
  • Data entry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some direct strength & conditioning experience
  • Experience in higher education

Supervision Received:

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised:

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
