We are an expanding dealership looking for an Assistant Service Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Service Branch Development Manager, this position is responsible for the management and supervision of all functions within the service repair shop for a specific branch.

  • Be a champion of Safety
  • Provide customers with updates as conditions, timelines, issues, quotes, part lead times, etc. change or arise
  • Ensure all services, parts, and fees billed on Work Orders (WO) can be clearly explained and justified
  • Assist in developing and acting on plans for acquiring new and additional existing customer service work to drive revenue
  • Assist the service manager in recruiting, hiring, and training of all service department employees
  • Manage the Work Order (WO) process from opening through invoicing
  • Schedule technicians for work with optimal efficiencies in mind
  • Provide accurate quotes for service work are provided to customers within 48 hours.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling Work In Progress (WIP) to limit WIP
  • Ensure all Manufacture Warranty procedures are followed and understood, such as warranty pictures, documentation, etc.
  • Provide direction and leadership required to achieve professional technical services
  • Assist with monitoring performance standards and measurements and develop means to do so as necessary.

*Supervisory Responsibility โ€“ In collaboration with the Service Manager, this position assists in supervising service personnel*

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

โ€ข High School Diploma; Diesel, Technical, or College Degree preferred

โ€ข Three years of experience in heavy, industrial, or over the road equipment service operations preferred

โ€ข Minimum of one-year experience dispatching technicians or working as a field service technician preferred

โ€ข Excellent Customer Service skills

โ€ข Strong organizational and leadership skills

โ€ข Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
