Secretary โ€“ Assistant Principal, High School

The Assistant Principal Secretary will provide support and clerical assistance to assigned administrators.

All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support and demonstrate our core values, communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self-performance and processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school graduate or GED from an accredited institution

Preferred:

  • Three+ years secretarial experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to work well with children
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Proficiency in use of computer
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide general secretarial service
  • Compose documents/correspondence to communicate information to staff, students, parents and public
  • Evaluate situations and take appropriate action or direct to appropriate personnel
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws/regulations
  • Assist with monitoring students referred to office for discipline infractions
  • Collect and enter student discipline information. Maintain accurate student discipline records and assist Assistant Principal with disseminative discipline information
  • Building reservations
  • Graduation programs
  • Assist assigned administrators with scheduling of extra-curricular activities and various duties
  • Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Working/Special Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
