JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Our client, a highly regarded Texas based law firm, is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant(Banking & Finance) to support their Houston office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex administrative tasks to support legal professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting
  • Draft, format, and edit legal documents with accuracy and consistency
  • Manage and organize legal files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with court and firm standards
  • Prepare and submit legal filings in accordance with county and state court procedures
  • Utilize legal billing software (preferably Aderant) to generate and process invoices
  • Maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel and court appearances
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and internal teams, both verbally and in writing
  • Proofread legal documents and correspondence with exceptional attention to detail
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare professional reports and presentations
  • Type accurately at a minimum of 70 words per minute to support high-volume documentation needs


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing administrative duties in a professional legal setting
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and court systems at the county and state levels
  • High level of organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
