JOB DESCRIPTION:
Organize and manage the routine work activities of the Associate Principal.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules, or reports using typewriter or personal computer.
  2. Prepare meeting agendas and department communication as requested using typewriter or personal computer.
  3. Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing various state and local reports.
  4. Prepare materials for faculty and staff meetings.
  5. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for Associate Principal.
  6. Assist staff, parents, students, and community as needed.
  7. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  8. Maintain physical and computerized files, including inventory of office supplies, mailing lists, records, visitor logs, and office communications.
  9. Update handbooks, policy manuals, and other documents as assigned.
  10. Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment.
  11. Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents.
  12. Maintain school calendar of events.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of information.
  14. Regular attendance
EXPERIENCE:
  • One to three years secretarial experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
