Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized surgical assistant to support our team in daily operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. This role is essential in ensuring smooth workflow and effective coordination among surgical cases.

Duties

  • Provide support to operating room personnel to facilitate surgical cases.
  • Help surgeons in operations as a second scrub tech.
  • Assist in preparing operating room turnovers.
  • Handle correspondence and communication with operating room nurses, anesthesia techs, and surgical techs.
  • Maintain organized method for meeting our turnover metrics.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Support project management tasks by tracking deadlines and deliverables.
  • Perform general office duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, and managing cleaning supplies/equipment.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a perioperative surgical assistant role, specifically retracting and assisting surgeons in operating room.
  • Sterile technique.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and clients.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment is highly valued.
