Summary

A reputable general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support ground-up multifamily and commercial construction projects. This role supports the Project Manager and Superintendent across all phases of construction, from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on coordination, documentation, cost tracking, and communication.

This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Project Manager role while gaining hands-on exposure to multifamily and commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support Project Managers with day-to-day management of multifamily and commercial projects

Assist with preconstruction activities including scope review, bid analysis, and subcontractor buyout

Track and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation

Help maintain and update project schedules and monitor progress against milestones

Assist with cost tracking, billing, pay applications, and budget reporting

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely information flow

Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-ups

Work closely with Superintendents to support field coordination, safety, and quality control

Support project closeout activities including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation

Qualifications

2–5+ years of experience in construction as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role

Experience supporting multifamily and/or commercial construction projects with a general contractor

Basic understanding of construction sequencing, contracts, and cost control

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable working with owners, design teams, and subcontractors

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
