Job description

Jr. Davis Construction Project Engineers work in conjunction with the Project Manager and project team to drive and coordinate the various processes of heavy civilย construction projects.ย You will be responsible for maintaining certain aspects of the project schedule by managing submittal approvals, coordinating the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities
  • Manages work schedules and coordinates design changes and/or plan revisions with the project owners.
  • Working knowledge of the scope of a project. Regularly consult field operations, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • On a Day-to-day basis project engineer reviews project requirements, makes adjustments to the scope of the project schedule, analyzes specifications, coordinates with the production team, and tracks all contract pay items.
  • Updates the project schedule with input from Field Operations per the contract specifications.
  • Compiles subcontractorsโ€™ bids and estimates and distributes contract documents at the project site for input from Management.
  • Works with and directly under the Project Management.
  • Oversee and ensure Safety Policies are followed. Safety is everyoneโ€™s top priority.
  • Assist the Project Manager with project setup and closeout.
  • Process & Track all Submittals & RFIs (including logs).
  • Create & Maintain Project CPM Schedule w/logic input from Project Management and Field Operations.
  • Assist Project Operations with two-week Look Ahead schedules (FDOT Projects require a two-week CPM look ahead every week with resource Loading).
  • Responsible for attending, maintaining, and or assisting in maintaining minutes for Weekly Progress Meetings when the owner does not provide them.
  • Coordinate with Survey with project issues requiring survey involvement and or RFI request.
  • Confirm that the contract drawings are correctly conformed to EOR revisions, RFIโ€™s, and or CSI modifications, etc.
  • Assist Project Manager with quarterly Look Ahead Schedules/Projected resource needs.
  • Provide accurate quantities from the field with assistance from the project superintendent for billing and cost control, projections, and cost to complete support. These quantities should be loaded in Heavy Job.
  • Assist with reviewing Labor and Equipment reports with field personnel related to budget.
  • Assist in scheduling, tracking, and coordinating subcontractors and permeant materials deliveries.

Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience required.
  • Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented office and field environment.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and subcontractors.
