Job description

Job Purpose

Lead and coordinate shift associates in all matters concerning safety, quality, production requirements and 6S and environmental.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure production requirements are met each day.

  • Manage, train, develop, and coach departmental associates.

  • Monitor all processes within the department.

  • Ensure all PM’s are being completed and done correctly by associates.

  • Sign off any documents that require to be signed off by leadership (PM’s, First Piece tags, PDS, Sintering Conditions sheets).

  • Perform quality checks daily and confirm associates are doing them correctly.

  • Work on any safety related items.

  • Assist with any quality, safety or setups or automation issues or concerns.

  • Assist with customer visits or 6S audits.

  • Assist with internal/external rejections and root cause and countermeasures.

  • Ensure all the rules/processes/policies are being followed by associates.

  • Assist with all quality related items via root cause or countermeasure meetings

  • Prepare department for quality, safety or environmental audits.

  • Complete necessary reports and approvals for other departments.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least five years of manufacturing experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or a related field.

Competencies

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer and application skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong leadership skills such as task prioritization, coaching, mentoring, and motivating associates.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions

  • This job operates primarily on the manufacturing floor.

  • Incumbents are subject to high temperatures (up to 115°), loud noises, and dirty working conditions for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising all shift full-time and temporary associates.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policy and all state and federal laws.
