What The Role Is

Babylist is hiring an Assistant Manager of Fulfillment Operations for Day Shift at our fulfillment center in Commercial Point, Ohio, just south of Columbus. This is a hands-on, floor-first leadership role at the center of our day-shift operation, with direct ownership over a significant portion of the FC, including picking, packing, and kitting. You will report to and work closely with the Operations Manager, with supervisors reporting directly to you.

Our fulfillment center is growing fast, and this role is part of how we invest in that growth. You will lead the floor across multiple workflows, coach and hold your supervisors accountable, and partner with our Senior Fulfillment Analyst to build labor plans that match inbound and outbound volume. This is a role for a leader who stays visible on the floor and is energized by engaging with supervisors and hourly team members every day, while driving safety, performance, and results across a shift of 190+ team members.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, with core working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is an exempt position and requires availability before the start of the shift, as well as after the shift when needed, to support opening responsibilities, end-of-shift duties, and wrap-up activities.

  • Process-Oriented Problem Solver: You excel at implementing efficient processes, optimizing workflows, and holding standards steady under pressure

  • Safety Champion: You prioritize workplace safety and compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Effective Communicator: You build strong relationships across shifts and keep everyone aligned on priorities, especially at handoff

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Lead the Floor: Provide direct, in-person leadership across kitting, picking, packing, outbound sortation throughout the day shift
  • Own Shift Handoff: Be actively engaged onsite after the end of shift to assist your floor leadership with handoff communications, reporting and activities
  • Build Labor Plans: Partner with the Senior Fulfillment Analyst to align staffing to inbound and outbound volume
  • Support Daily Operations: Manage daily workflows and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
  • Develop the Team: Coach, train, and mentor your supervisors, building a culture of growth, accountability, and engagement

  • Promote Safety: Enforce safety protocols and maintain a secure environment for all team members
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Operations Manager and cross-functional partners to align on priorities

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours per shift) with scheduled breaks
