Job description

The University of Evansville, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant, Women's Basketball. This position provides an outstanding opportunity for an aspiring collegiate athletics professional to gain hands-on experience within a Division I women's basketball program while pursuing a graduate degree.
The Graduate Assistant will assist the Women's Basketball coaching staff in all aspects of program operations, student-athlete development, recruiting, and administrative support. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued success of the program while developing professionally in a collaborative and student-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant will support the Women's Basketball program through a variety of operational, recruiting, and administrative functions, including:
Basketball Operations
  • Assist coaches with practice planning, preparation, and daily team activities.
  • Support game-day operations and team logistics.
  • Coordinate film exchange and assist with video editing and analysis.
  • Assist with statistical tracking, reporting, and game preparation.
  • Help coordinate team travel arrangements and operational logistics.

Recruiting & Student-Athlete Support
  • Assist with the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
  • Help organize recruiting visits and recruiting-related operations in accordance with NCAA regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Support initiatives that promote student-athlete academic success and personal development.

Program Administration
  • Assist with overall administration of the Women's Basketball program.
  • Coordinate community engagement and service opportunities for student-athletes.
  • Assist with marketing, promotions, and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Support social media and digital communication efforts for the program.
  • Assist with the planning and administration of camps and clinics, including business development and operational support.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Head Women's Basketball Coach.

Compliance
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with University of Evansville, NCAA, and Missouri Valley Conference rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and student-athlete welfare.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to, or eligibility for admission into, a University of Evansville graduate program.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by the competition schedule.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous collegiate playing, coaching, or team operations experience.
  • Experience with video editing, scouting software, and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I athletics and recruiting regulations.
  • Experience with social media management, event planning, or sports marketing initiatives.
