Job description

We're looking for an Accountant in Raleigh, NC to join us in fulfilling our mission, while utilizing our values of excellence, improvement, and connection. The Accountant - Accounting & Reporting reports to the Director of Financial Reporting on the Controllership team and will be responsible for the preparation of financial reporting and filings. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional having expertise working in cross-functional teams with a continuous improvement mindset for processes and controls.
LOCATION
Enact Headquarters, Raleigh, NC - Hybrid Schedule
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory filings, including all financial statements, schedules and footnotes/disclosure schedules to the financial statements
  • Support premium tax filings in all states and municipalities, to include creating ACH requests
  • Complete monthly accounting close related activities, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for premiums, losses, reinsurance and statutory adjustments
  • Create and maintain documentation for key departmental processes
  • Assist in preparation and filing of supplemental schedules and state and regulatory reporting forms
  • Compile financial data from tax and investment teams to include in regulatory and statutory filings
  • Support external auditor activities relating to statutory audits, including providing certain schedules and variance explanations and audited financial statements and related footnote disclosures thereto
  • Work with IT and other departments cross-functionally to continually improve processes
  • Assist with all regulatory-related audits and reviews

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 0 - 5 years of general accounting experience
  • Strong experience with Excel and other accounting related tools; Oracle experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with a team as well as with individuals in other departments and at other levels within the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
