Hours: 40 hours per week; Non-Exempt ย

The basic functions of the Finance Specialist are to process the day-to-day accounting tasks for the organization and to support analysis for reporting to guide management in the business decision-making process necessary to facilitate the achievement of desired business results on a weekly, quarterly, and monthly basis.ย 


Duties & responsibilitiesย 

  • Assist with month and year-end closeย 
  • Grant Administration - Running Monthly/quarterly grant reporting, time card computationย 
  • Copying, scanning, filing, and obtaining signatures for various grant programsย 
  • Manages and supports the grant requirements and implementation for the organization ย 
  • Assist with preparing and submitting reports, invoices, including quarterly reports by required/established deadlines, including revenue and expenditure reporting ย 
  • Assist Finance & Grants Specialists with Accounts Payable - Credit card, receipt tracking, invoice entry, weekly check runsย 
  • Assist Finance & Grants Specialists with Accounts receivable - depositing checks, deposit entries, invoicing, contacting for past due balances via phone & emailย 
  • Maintain the accuracy of accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactionsย 
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and payment arrangements ย 
  • Organize and update relevant data using various computer applicationsย 
  • Accurately and efficiently type and word-process various documents and electronic informationย 
  • Maintain historical recordsย 


OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESย 

  • Actively participate in mandatory Club training and All Staff meetingsย 
  • Occasionally may be required to work special events promoted by the organizationย 
  • Support other projects as neededย 
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance & Grants Specialistsย 
  • Complete any additional assignments as requested by Managementย 


OTHERย 

Consistent and reliable transportation is required for this position.ย 


Requirements

BACKGROUND SCREENINGย 

  • Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children & Families.ย 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testย 
  • Certificationsย 
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.ย 


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCEย 


Associate degree, two or more years of administration or finance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.ย 


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGEย 


  • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excelย 
  • Strong attention to detailย 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skillsย 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyย

Our offices, neighborhood clubhouses, and school-based clubs are fast-paced work environments and are strategically located in areas of St. Lucie County where youth need us most. Based on the organization's needs, flexibility to work different schedules and work in different locations in St. Lucie County is required due to changing business demands. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:ย 


  • The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, stooping/kneeling, reaching with hands and arms, and finger dexterity. ย 
  • This position requires extended talking, listening, sitting, walking, and standing; computer viewing, and keyboard entry. Regularly lifting up to 25 pounds. ย 
  • Daily operation of personal motor vehicles relevant to carrying out job duties is required for this position. ย 
  • Ability to think strategically and ability to sit for more than four hours per day.ย
