Lead Financial Analyst | Business Finance US Remote or Hybrid - Depending on location Travel quarterly to Houston or Miami required Help Drive Growth in One of World Fuel's Fastest-Growing Businesses World Fuel is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to support the continued growth of our North America Land business. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy, partnering closely with business leaders to deliver actionable insights, improve financial performance, and support key growth initiatives. As a trusted advisor to the business, you'll combine strong FP&A expertise with advanced business analytics to support decision-making, optimize operational performance, and help shape the future direction of a rapidly expanding segment of World Fuel. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys moving beyond traditional reporting to influence business outcomes and drive strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do
  • Business Partnership & Performance Management Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. Analyze financial and operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop actionable recommendations. Support sales, operations, and leadership teams with profitability, margin, and cost analyses. Develop reporting and dashboards that improve visibility into key business drivers and performance metrics. Support incentive plan reporting and performance measurement initiatives. Drive greater understanding of revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), operating expenses, and profitability trends.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities. Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts. Perform variance analysis and provide insight into business performance. Support capital investment evaluations and business case development. Partner with operational leaders to ensure effective budget management and financial discipline. Support sales and operations planning activities through data-driven analysis.
  • Strategic Analytics & Decision Support Develop short- and long-term trend analyses to support growth and profitability objectives. Analyze business performance, customer trends, operational metrics, and financial outcomes. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize spending, and increase profitability. Deliver data-driven recommendations to support strategic initiatives. Utilize analytics tools to improve business visibility and support decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting & Controls Prepare and deliver timely and accurate management reporting. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements. Ensure financial data integrity and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Support month-end and quarter-end close processes. Work closely with Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Shared Services, and leadership teams to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Risk, Compliance & Governance Support financial risk identification and quarterly risk review processes. Participate in internal control reviews and audit activities. Monitor compliance with corporate policies, SOX requirements, and financial controls. Support inventory, asset, lease, and working capital management initiatives. Identify and elevate compliance concerns or financial risks proactively.
  • Continuous Improvement & Business Transformation Champion process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements. Streamline financial and operational processes to improve efficiency and scalability. Develop new reporting capabilities and analytical tools that support business growth. Help establish best practices and standardized processes across the organization.
What We're Looking For
  • Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting designation preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Business Finance, or Financial Management.
  • Strong experience supporting senior business leaders in a business partnering capacity.
  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with financial and ERP systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, PDI, or similar systems is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting practices, and US GAAP.
