Must be based near Tucson, AZ, or willing to relocate; this is a remote role, but in-office and field presence is required as needed).

We are seeking a seasoned senior electrical engineer with 15+ years of experience in substation design and commissioning, with a strong understanding of protection and control. While this role is not design-intensive, it requires deep technical knowledge to support all phases of project execution-from planning and design review to high-level construction oversight and commissioning support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership on substation projects specializing in substation design and commissioning with a strong focus on protection and control
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to keep projects on track and aligned with scope and schedule
  • Review engineering design packages and material specifications to ensure completeness and constructability
  • Monitor construction progress at a high level, ensuring compliance with design requirements and safety standards
  • Develop, review, and support implementation of commissioning procedures, including system testing and startup
  • Assist engineering project management with progress tracking, coordination, and resolution of technical issues
Qualifications
