Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a Contract position suited for someone who can keep case activity organized, manage court-related filings, and help attorneys stay ahead of deadlines. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment and contributing to matter preparation from discovery through trial support.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit electronic filings for matters in both state and federal courts while helping ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate discovery activities by tracking document requests, organizing productions, assisting with subpoenas, and supporting deposition logistics.
• Maintain litigation calendars by monitoring court dates, filing deadlines, and key case milestones, and update docket information as needed.
• Organize and maintain case records, correspondence, pleadings, and supporting materials so files remain complete and accessible.
• Assist attorneys and the litigation support team with trial preparation, including exhibit assembly, document organization, and readiness planning.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders, courts, and outside parties to help keep case-related administrative tasks moving efficiently.• Experience supporting civil litigation matters in a law firm or legal department setting.
• Proficiency with electronic filing procedures for court submissions, including state and federal court filings.
• Strong calendar management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines and priorities accurately.
• Familiarity with discovery support processes, including document production, subpoenas, and deposition preparation.
• Ability to organize legal files and manage detailed documentation with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to legal administrative support.
