Job description

We are looking for a Development Officer to support fundraising efforts and strengthen donor engagement for an organization based in Fresno, California. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in development operations, donor relations, and written communications. The person in this role will help manage contribution records, prepare development materials, and support reporting activities that advance fundraising goals.
Responsibilities:
• Manage donor records and maintain accurate contribution data using fundraising databases such as Raiser’s Edge.
• Coordinate mail merge activities to produce tailored outreach, acknowledgements, and campaign communications for donors and stakeholders.
• Prepare clear, effective correspondence in support of donor stewardship, fundraising outreach, and development initiatives.
• Draft audit-related reports and organize supporting documentation to promote accuracy and compliance in development records.
• Support fundraising campaigns by tracking donations, monitoring progress, and helping implement effective engagement strategies.
• Partner with internal teams to assist with fundraising management activities and ensure development efforts align with organizational priorities.
• Analyze donor activity and giving trends to help inform campaign planning and relationship-building efforts.• 7+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development operations.
• Demonstrated experience working with donor management systems, including Raiser’s Edge.
• Proficiency with mail merge tools and document preparation for large-scale donor communications.
• Strong ability to draft business correspondence and audit-related reports with accuracy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of donation processing, fundraising campaigns, and donor stewardship practices.
• Experience supporting fundraising strategies and managing multiple development priorities effectively.
• Excellent written communication, organization, and recordkeeping skills.
