Position Summary:
Arkansas State University - Mountain Home seemk a 10-month, part-time assistant baseball coach to assist the head baseball coach in all day to day operations of the baseball program. The Assistant Baseball Coach supports the Head Baseball Coach in all aspects of the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home baseball program. This position assists with student-athlete recruitment, coaching, player development, academic success, team operations, and program administration while promoting the mission and values of ASU-Mountain Home, the Athletic Department, and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Duties & Responsibilities:
The assistant Baseball Coach will be responsible for the following:
  1. Assist the Head Baseball Coach in recruiting, evaluating, and retaining qualified student-athletes who demonstrate academic and athletic potential.
  2. Coach a designated position group as assigned by the Head Coach, providing instruction in individual and team skills, player development, and game strategy.
  3. Support the overall vision, philosophy, and goals of the ASU-Mountain Home Baseball Program and Athletic Department.
  4. Assist with practice planning, on-field instruction, game preparation, and in-game coaching responsibilities.
  5. Throw batting practice and provide position-specific instruction and skill development during practices and competitions.
  6. Assist in the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning programs designed to enhance student-athlete performance and reduce injury risk.
  7. Monitor and encourage the academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being of student-athletes while promoting academic success and retention.
  8. Assist with the transportation of student-athletes to away contests, recruiting activities, and other college-sponsored events requiring team travel.
  9. Foster positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, boosters, media, and members of the community while representing in a professional manner.
  10. Ensure compliance with all institutional policies and procedures, Arkansas State University System policies, Athletic Department expectations, and all applicable NJCAA rules and regulations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds.
Ability work nights and weekends as needed
Ability to travel as needed.
Ability to maintain a valid drivers license with no major infractions in the last 5 years.
