Job description

Position:         Assistant Golf Coach
Location:        Prince Edward County High School
Reports To:    Head Golf Coach / Athletic Director/Principal
Employment Type: Seasonal / Stipend


Assistant Golf Coach - Summary

Prince Edward County High School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Golf Coach beginning with the Fall 2026 season (start date: August 1, 2026). This position plays a key role in developing a competitive program that emphasizes student leadership, academic accountability, and education-based athletics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the Prince Edward County High School golf program.
  • Plan and conduct practices, skill development sessions, and competitions.
  • Assist in preparing student-athletes for VHSL competition.
  • Promote education-based athletics, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic accountability.
  • Coordinate schedules, travel, and logistics with the Athletic Department.
  • Ensure compliance with VHSL, school, and district policies.
  • Maintain team equipment, uniforms, and program organization.
  • Assist with fundraising and community engagement efforts.

Program Development Responsibilities

  • Assist the Athletic Department with launching a Middle School Golf Program.
  • Support instructional opportunities and skill development for middle school golfers.
  • Help create a long-term development pipeline for Prince Edward County Athletics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience playing or coaching golf (high school, collegiate, or youth level preferred).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop student-athletes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community.
  • Must meet all VHSL and school division coaching certification requirements.
