Job Title: Commercial Insurance Account Executive and Team Leader

Role Type: Existing Vacancy

What the day will look like

As a Commercial Insurance Account Executive:

  • Provide insurance advice and guidance to Affinity and commercial clients
  • Identify clients’ specific risks and develop and present innovative coverage solutions to support the growth objectives of existing and new business.
  • Analyze clients’ specific risks and detail coverage requirements. Prepare and present marketing proposals for renewals and new business.
  • Consult with underwriters to obtain the best possible premium and coverage terms (where applicable).
  • Approve documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions, and renewals.
  • Build contacts and cultivate relationships within the underwriting community to secure the most favourable rates and coverages for Aon’s clients.
  • Develop coverage strategies and marketing initiatives related to renewals as well as potential business.
  • Obtain new business through existing clients, client referrals, targeted campaigns, and the Aon client network and place it with the appropriate insurance markets.
  • Respond to client requests by phone or email.
  • Provide guidance when a claim is reported or requested.
  • Other related tasks as required.

As a Team Leader:

  • Support the unit manager in their duties.
  • Lead a team of commercial Account Managers
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and quarterly checkins.
  • Respond to questions and requests from team members.
  • Maintain relationships with insurers to understand their service offerings, new products, etc.
  • Organize monthly or bimonthly team meetings.
  • Participate in setting objectives and finding innovative ways to achieve them.
  • Address client complaints as needed.
  • Assist team members with client relationships, when required.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in commercial property and casualty insurance.
  • AMF licence in commercial insurance 
  • French / English bilingualism is required due to the frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software.
  • DEC in a related field or equivalent years of experience in a related industry.
  • Knowledge of the Epic management system is an asset.
