Position Overview
We are seeking a Machinist Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision parts while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards. You'll work with a variety of machining equipment, technical documentation, and inspection tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
  • Perform complete machining operations on a variety of parts and materials using manual and computer-assisted machining equipment.
  • Operate a variety of machining equipment, tools, and inspection devices based on job assignment and classification.
  • Set up, adjust, and change over equipment as required, including basic program edits when applicable.
  • Ensure all work meets quality specifications, tolerances, and production requirements.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing documentation such as blueprints, process sheets, work instructions, and material movement documents.
  • Prepare for assigned jobs based on production schedules and direction from the work area leader.
  • Coordinate materials to ensure uninterrupted production, utilizing pull systems or working with material suppliers as needed.
  • Perform in-process inspections at required intervals using appropriate measuring and inspection tools.
  • Partner with quality and support personnel to complete periodic inspections or layouts.
  • Identify and respond to out-of-tolerance conditions, taking corrective action and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks associated with assigned equipment.
  • Accurately record production, quality results, material usage, and time/attendance information.
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation to support traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Follow all safety rules, policies, and safe work practices at all times. Proactively identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area throughout the shift and at shift end (5S).

Required Qualifications
  • Experience operating machining equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing documentation
  • Basic understanding of quality inspection methods and measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Preferred Qualifications
  • CNC setup and changeover experience
  • Experience with program editing or offsets
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance and continuous improvement practices

Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and move materials within established safety guidelines
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $27.68, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge / skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
