Job Description

This role will be based in Manassas, Virginia.
We are seeking a Senior Data Center Asset Management Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data center asset management processes across our data center fleet. This role is responsible for driving governance, compliance, and operational excellence across the full hardware lifecycle-from procurement through decommissioning.
What You'll Do
Asset Management & Operations
  • Lead end-to-end asset lifecycle management across procurement, receiving, inventory, deployment, and decommissioning
  • Ensure accurate asset tracking, tagging, and system-of-record integrity across all data center environments
  • Drive operational efficiency through scalable processes, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee physical stock room organization, implementing optimized storage layouts and rigorous accountability protocols to ensure 100% physical to system accuracy

Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Design and implement policies, controls, and standards to ensure asset security, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Partner with Finance, Security, and Compliance teams on reporting, audits, and asset accountability
  • Maintain strong chain-of-custody practices for all hardware, including data-bearing devices

Supply Chain & Vendor Management
  • Partner with sourcing and vendors to optimize hardware supply chain, inventory strategies, and logistics
  • Drive vendor performance through clear KPIs, SLAs, and operational standards
  • Support supplier onboarding, contract execution, and supply allocation planning

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with engineering, data center operations, sourcing, and legal teams to align on business objectives
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities, and lead resolution efforts across stakeholders
  • Serve as a point of escalation for asset-related issues impacting operations

Program & Systems Ownership
  • Lead asset-related programs including retrofits, decommissions, and new site readiness
  • Own asset management tools and systems, driving enhancements and adoption
  • Develop dashboards and reporting to track performance, compliance, and operational health

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years in hardware supply chain, asset management, procurement, or vendor management
  • Experience with procurement, incident management, and asset management systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a technology or data center environment
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and platforms such as ServiceNow
  • IAITAM/CITAM or similar certification
  • Proven experience scaling operations in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Strong program and project management skills

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
