Asset & Operations Manager

LOCATION

Fort Worth, Texas | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

ROLE IMPACT
The Asset & Operations Manager oversees the financial, operational, and compliance performance of a multifamily affordable housing portfolio. This position partners with third-party property management companies, investors, and internal teams to preserve property value, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve operational performance. Success in this role is measured by strong portfolio performance, effective stakeholder relationships, and consistent compliance with affordable housing requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the financial, operational, physical, and compliance performance of an assigned multifamily housing portfolio in partnership with third-party property management companies.
  • Review property inspections, financial statements, operating reports, budgets, and performance metrics to identify risks and implement improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with property managers and internal departments to resolve maintenance issues, tenant concerns, insurance claims, code compliance matters, and operational challenges.
  • Coordinate HUD, TDHCA, and other required affordable housing compliance reporting while serving as a resource for regulatory guidance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ownership partners, developers, lenders, and management companies while preparing required reports, presentations, and portfolio updates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in multifamily asset management, affordable housing, or public housing.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and eligibility for company vehicle insurance coverage.

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Microsoft 365 applications including Teams and SharePoint
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Internet-based research and reporting tools
  • Ability to learn additional software applications as required

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of HUD, TDHCA, and applicable federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with multifamily housing portfolios, ownership structures, investor reporting, and third-party property management companies.
