Job description

CyrusOne is seeking a Regional Asset Director to lead the commercial performance and overall management of its Texas regional data center portfolio.
The Regional Asset Director will be accountable for asset-level strategy, customer retention and renewals, capital planning, compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, and building strong relationships with community and government stakeholders. The role requires significant financial acumen, the ability to assess and drive capital investment decisions, and the leadership skills to collaborate cross-functionally across Sales, Operations, Finance, Customer Care, Legal, and Capital Markets.
This is a high-visibility role that demands a hands-on leader capable of balancing long-term strategic value creation with day-to-day commercial management, ensuring that CyrusOne continues to deliver secure, reliable, and sustainable data center solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall commercial performance and management of the Texas assets, ensuring alignment with corporate and regional performance objectives.

  • Define and execute asset strategy in partnership with Sales, including prospective customer opportunities, renewals, and modifications to existing agreements.

  • Collaborate with Operations on the operating performance of the assets.

  • Develop and manage annual asset budgets and forecasts, review variance reports, and implement corrective action plans.

  • Monitor and report asset performance against investment objectives, pro-forma metrics, and market benchmarks.

  • Evaluate capital project investments, capacity management initiatives, and Maintenance CapEx business cases in collaboration with Operations.

  • Oversee compliance with licenses, permits, tax abatements, project commitments, and all legal requirements.

  • Act as primary liaison with government officials, regulators, and community stakeholders to advance business interests and maintain compliance.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on legal matters.

  • Ensure compliance with all customer contracts and service obligations.

  • Monitor closely market dynamics, competitor positioning, and industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in asset and portfolio management.

  • Significant experience in asset management or commercial real estate; data center operations experience is strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to interpret and manage financial statements, investment performance, and asset-level performance metrics.

  • Strong negotiation skills, business judgment, and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions in complex environments.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior internal stakeholders, customers, investors, and government officials.

  • This is an on-site role based in our corporate office in Dallas, requiring travel to sites as needed.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, or a related field; MBA preferred.
