The Apprentice Instructor supports the delivery of high-quality Pilates instruction in a group class setting while developing their teaching skills under the guidance of senior instructors. This role involves leading group classes with a focus on safety, clear communication, and effective movement guidance. The Apprentice Instructor assists clients in improving overall health, muscle tone, and posture through tailored Pilates practice.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead group classes, up to 12 clients, effectively and safely.
  • Ability to verbally communicate movement directions to participants.
  • Assist clients in their Pilates practice by promoting overall health, muscle tone, and achieving better posture.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide modifications to fit the needs of group and on an individual bases among class members.
  • Experience to expertly incorporate props into class flows.
  • Assist with cleaning tasks to keep the studio and equipment clean.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to bend and lift or demonstrate exercises.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Understanding of anatomy, movement principles, and Pilates methodology.
  • Ability to modify exercises safely and appropriately for different fitness levels.
  • Desire to build a successful business and private clientele, as well as group loyalty.
  • Punctual, reliable, and dedicated.
  • Focus on customer service, including professional and effective communication skills.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly workout environment.
  • Being a motivation and inspiring force to promote our motto: Do Pilates. Do Life.

Education & Experience:
  • All Canvas hours completed.
  • At least 250 hours of training completed.
  • Must have Test Out Date set with Master Trainer within 90 days of hiring.

Wage & Compensation:
The hourly rate or salary range for this position is broad to reflect the range of experience, skills, and certifications candidates may bring. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location, consistent with applicable state pay transparency laws.
Instructors are eligible for a quarterly incentive program. Instructors earn 10% commission on private training, retail, and first month membership sales.
Benefits:
Instructors are required to teach an average of 25 classes a week throughout a six-month lookback period to qualify for benefits. ALL Spartan employees are eligible to participate in the Spartan 401K program with up to a 5% match.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical demonstrations, including bending, lifting, and assisting clients with equipment setup.
