Job description

Job Summary:
Assist in and be capable of learning installation, operations, integration, ongoing maintenance and support of systems (servers and applications).
Assist in and be capable of learning workflow analysis, data collection, reporting, database customization, enhancement, user training and support of applications.
Assist in and be capable of learning database maintenance and optimization, security, disaster recovery, and routine updates/upgrades to existing servers and applications.
Assist in and be capable of learning project analysis and existing processes/application enhancement and/or production of new processes/applications.
Assist in and be capable of troubleshooting and repair or recovery from software and/or hardware failures.
Contribute to and maintain standards, procedures and documentation, research solutions and recommend approaches to leverage resources and automate tasks.
Responsible for daily system monitoring for integrity and availability, log review, and verification of scheduled jobs, including backups.
Have knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate with customers/users to develop an understanding of their business objectives, application/system needs and process flows.
Assist in and be capable of learning Unix and Windows environments, programming/scripting languages, and database operations and architecture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
  • Demonstrates the ability to be self-sufficient, lead and responsible for supported systems.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Minimum of Associate Degree or equivalent education or extensive work experience in direct applications/systems.
Work Experience:
Five or more years' experience in IS preferred; healthcare setting preferred. Working knowledge of the customer department's operations, including software/systems, and being able to use an analytical approach. Must have strong communication skills and organizational ability.
