Job description

Your responsibilities
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 (based on experience)
POSITION SUMMARY: Create, select, and review slewing ring bearing designs in accordance with customer requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze and clarify customer inquiries based on the application, load data and customer specifications, and existing production capabilities.
  • Select existing product designs or create custom bearing designs to suit customer applications and tkre USA's internal requirements for design, engineering, and safety standards.
  • Perform load, raceway, gear, bolt, and stress calculations using company and third-party software.
  • Perform drawing comparisons.
  • Understand production capabilities, applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) best practices to application reviews. Continually seek to improve designs for manufacturability
  • Prepare proposal drawings using CAD software (Autodesk products) and drawing automation tools.
  • Call for and facilitate cross-departmental Design Review Team meetings as required.
  • Assure timely completion and completeness of all technical reviews and follow-ups to customer technical inquiries.
  • Present technical proposals to and discuss technical details with the customer. When deemed necessary, travel to the customer's site for presentation and discussion with customer in person.
  • Maintain customer inquiry information, technical calculations, drawings, internal design requirements, customer correspondence and inquiry status information in company electronic record-keeping systems.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Confer with supervisor regarding departmental issues or technical reviews requiring special approval or guidance.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar Engineering discipline from a four-year college or university or 4 years related experience and/or training in product design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer experience using CAD programs (such as Inventor and AutoCAD) and using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Excel VBA, Visual Studo (C#/.Net Framework) experience a plus.
