Job description

Role Description & Responsibilities
Dassault Systèmes is seeking a Software Engineer, SOLIDWORKS API Support to join the SOLIDWORKS API Support group within our Research & Development organization. In this role, you will work closely with customers, partners, and resellers to support the development of solutions leveraging APIs across the SOLIDWORKS product portfolio.
You will combine software development, debugging, technical problem-solving, and customer collaboration to help identify and resolve API-related issues while also contributing to the continued improvement of SOLIDWORKS API capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to partners, resellers, and customers developing solutions using SOLIDWORKS APIs.
  • Troubleshoot and debug SOLIDWORKS and partner-developed source code to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
  • Investigate reported software problems and document findings in sufficient detail for internal development teams to reproduce and correct issues.
  • Validate software fixes to ensure reported problems are resolved without introducing issues in other areas of functionality.
  • Document technical solutions and best practices for publication within the SOLIDWORKS Knowledge Base.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for new or enhanced API functionality.
  • Evaluate and prioritize API enhancement ideas based on technical feasibility and customer value.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for selected API enhancements in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Create and execute test plans for new and enhanced API functionality.
  • Develop sample applications and code examples demonstrating proper use of existing and newly developed APIs.
  • Review and validate online Help and technical documentation for SOLIDWORKS APIs.
  • Collaborate within the software development team to meet project milestones and deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; Master's degree or PhD preferred.
  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong programming knowledge with C++.
  • Working knowledge of MFC and COM technologies.
  • Experience with C#, Visual Basic (VB), .NET Framework, OLE, and/or ActiveX is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software development concepts, and application architecture.
  • Experience developing, integrating, or supporting APIs, SDKs, or software applications.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex software issues.
  • Experience with CAD, engineering software, or SOLIDWORKS is highly preferred.
  • Ability to understand existing source code and investigate issues across multiple areas of an application.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a software development and R&D environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and contribute toward aggressive project milestones.

Compensation & Benefits
Dassault Systèmes offers an excellent salary with potential for bonus, commensurate with experience. Benefits include a choice of plans providing comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, vision care for employee & dependents as well as employee life, short & long term disability, tuition reimbursement, immediate 401K enrollment, 401K match (50 cents on the dollar, up to the first 8% of your eligible compensation that you contribute based on match eligibility criteria), flexible time off policy, and 10 paid holidays.
Salary Pay Transparency
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $130000 and $155000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
