The Opportunity
We are seeking an International Payroll Supervisor to join our Firm. This position will be based in our White Plains office (hybrid). The International Payroll Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with international payroll and tax statutory requirements, provides subject matter expertise in day-to-day international payroll operations, and advises on escalated matters and audits. Takes a lead role in the processing, reconciling, and auditing of international payrolls and collaborates with US payroll team, expatriate payroll team and payroll vendors to ensure payroll deadlines are met timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance of international payroll processes, tax obligations, and social security programs with local statutory requirements across multiple countries.
  • Handles international payroll processing, reconciliation and auditing of payroll transactions and supports US payroll processes, as needed.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for international payroll matters and advises on escalations and audits.
  • Utilizes understanding of local tax treaties to manage dual tax obligations, tax-equalization and shadow payrolls.
  • Collaborates with expatriate payroll team and multiple payroll vendors across multiple countries to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
  • Develops and maintains international payroll policies, SOPs, and training programs for payroll team.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Ensures current knowledge of Firm policies and practices, current knowledge of industry trends, and continued professional development for business services professionals.
  • Recommends, develops and implements changes and improvements in methods, guidelines, and procedures to higher level management to promote efficiency, effectiveness, excellent customer service and improved employee relations, in alignment with the Firm's Core Values.
  • Coordinates and oversees department projects, day-to-day operations and long-range plans.
  • Monitors time, attendance, overtime, and expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with Firm policies.
  • Effectively utilizes the Firm's performance management process to communicate performance expectations, monitor performance, coach employees, and manage unsatisfactory performance.
  • Oversees employees' work performance and provides guidance in the resolution of problems and initiates disciplinary procedures in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, as needed.
  • Ensures accurate and timely responses to requests for departmental services.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
  • Regular and reliable physical presence to work as part of a team.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of international payroll laws and regulations
  • Deep knowledge of international tax laws, labor regulations, and social security programs across multiple countries.
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Workday), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing for cross-geography collaboration
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail

  • Minimum of two year's experience with Workday HCM or similar global payroll system

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
