An analytics manager translates raw data into insights that a business can use. Usually leading a team of analysts, your job duties include developing data analysis strategies, tracking and reporting on performance, implementing tools and solutions, and overseeing all analytics operations. You must stay up-to-date on current industry trends. Strong communication and analytical skills are required. Other qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in statistics, data management, or information technology and proven career experience in market research, statistical modelings, or project management.

How does an analytics manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business insights?

Analytics Managers frequently work alongside teams such as marketing, product development, finance, and operations to translate data into actionable business strategies. They facilitate meetings to understand stakeholder goals, guide data collection efforts, and present findings in a way that's accessible to non-technical audiences. This cross-functional collaboration ensures that insights are aligned with business objectives and that projects are implemented effectively. Strong communication and project management skills are essential for success in this collaborative environment.

Job description

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. As we scale our physical product business and global footprint, data-driven operations are critical to delivering a seamless, high-quality member experience. WHOOP is hiring a Business Analytics Managerto partner with our Operations teams to create visibility, drive accountability, and unlock insights that enable better service, lower cost, and faster decision-making.
This role is ideal for someone fluent in data and obsessed with uncovering operational inefficiencies that impact financial performance and the member experience. You will be empowered to shape our data infrastructure, define performance metrics, and drive change across a global ecosystem of vendors and partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate and drive the strategic analytic roadmap to identify exceptions and inefficiencies across the order lifecycle - shipping delays, cost drivers, inventory inaccuracies, and service-level gaps - and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Own operational metrics, ensuring clarity, alignment, and regular review across stakeholders; bridge operations and finance on forecasting, spend tracking, and variance analysis to ensure operational data and financial reporting tell the same story.
  • Lead analytics for quarterly cost reduction initiatives, including fulfillment COGS, freight costs, and cost per contact. Partner with Finance on total cost reporting and gross margin analysis.
  • Contribute to S&OP reviews and Operations OKR check-ins. Deliver the data that shapes prioritization and resource allocation across the operations organization.
  • Partner with Operations, Membership Services, and Finance to improve accuracy, vendor accountability, and overall member experience.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve pipeline reliability and data access across key operational systems.
  • Build, maintain, and ensure accurate, reliable data assets and trusted metric definitions within our semantic layer - from data pipelines to dashboards and regular performance reviews.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of analysts, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Ensure each analyst has clear workstream ownership and the context they need to proactively identify problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ years of experience in analytics, operations, supply chain, fulfillment, or logistics in a consumer business (eCommerce, hardware, CPG, or retail preferred).
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts. You should enjoy coaching and have a perspective on how to grow early-career analysts into workstream owners.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to connect operational data to cost, experience, and strategic priorities.
  • Proven ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels and context-switch between them without dropping quality.
  • Comfort representing analytics in cross-functional settings and demonstrated success in influencing senior stakeholders on strategic direction based on data-driven insights.
  • Proficiency in SQL; experience with dbt, Snowflake, or similar ELT/data warehouse platforms.

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
Interested in the role, but don't meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience. As we continue to build a diverse and inclusive environment, we encourage anyone who is interested in this role to apply.
WHOOP is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-verify to determine employment eligibility
The WHOOP compensation philosophy is designed to attract, motivate, and retain exceptional talent by offering competitive base salaries, meaningful equity, and consistent pay practices that reflect our mission and core values.
At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company's long-term growth and success.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $180,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate's specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role's requirements.
