Job description

The Opportunity
As a Program Manager, you'll ensure strong alignment between business platforms and the needs of the Data Strategy, Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics (BIRA) organization. By working in close partnership with platform Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders, this role provides visibility into platform changes, data structures, workflows, and reporting dependencies, helping ensure analytics outcomes remain reliable, consistent, and aligned to business priorities.
The Team
The Data Reporting, Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics (BIRA) team enables Operations and key business partners across MassMutual by providing actionable insights to inform both strategic initiatives and operational decisions. Through industry leading tools, we empower all levels of the organization via analytics, reporting, data management, visualization and business technology, to name a few areas. In short, we consult with leaders on business intelligence needs and represent it in 'business speak' with powerful visualizations to enable advisor centricity, business performance and align associate activity metrics. On any given day, this could mean sourcing and structuring internal data, integrating third party data, deriving analytical insight, creating leading/lagging indicators or guiding data literacy to engage users in data driven decisioning across their teams. We are business people first, but we understand technology, coding, modeling and bring that together so we can guide strategy with analytics.
The Impact:
  • Serve as a program manager ensuring business platforms are aligned to BIRA's data strategy, reporting standards, and evolving business needs, enabling leaders to maintain strong, proactive connections between platforms and analytics outcomes. This role will represent our Data Strategy and BIRA as a key connection point with the new Product Owner team that oversees the strategic direction of key business tools including Salesforce and Genesys. Further, this person will be BIRA liaison with Clarity PPM.
  • Establish and sustain structured communication loops across BIRA teams, Product Owners, and Initiative Managers, ensuring visibility into decisions, timelines, migrations, and decommissions-and translating inputs from all groups into clear downstream impacts for analytics and reporting.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in data availability, quality, structure, or integration, and drive mitigation plans in partnership with Product Owners, Initiative Managers, and technical teams.
  • Maintain an ongoing understanding of platform roadmaps, release cycles, and upcoming enhancements; serve as BIRA's representative in platform planning, translating changes into impacts, risks, dependencies, and requirements, and partnering with BIRA portfolio program management function to align on prioritization. Actively ensure Product Owners understand analytics implications while consistently communicating BIRA updates, priorities, and constraints.
  • Maintain visibility into analytics assets and data dependencies across platforms, including dashboards, reports, automations, data flows, workflows, and metric definitions, in order to understand connections and downstream impacts across BIRA-hosted assets and platform-embedded reporting.
  • Partner closely with Data Stewardship to ensure shared metric definitions, aligned personas, and consistent business logic across BIRA dashboards, Salesforce reporting, and other consuming systems.
  • Serve as the BIRA liaison to drive alignment on time tracking, productivity, and capacity data across Clarity and related tools, ensuring the right data is defined, governed, and integrated into a cohesive analytics strategy in tandem with
  • Provide initiative management for Salesforce or Clarity related efforts where BIRA plays a critical role, coordinating closely with Initiative Manager(s) leading platform decommissions, migrations, or modernization efforts.
  • Working closely with OPMO and Product Owners, ensure BIRA is proactively engaged-rather than reactively notified-in platform changes that may affect analytics, reporting, or data integrity.

The Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years in program management, business systems ownership, or data/analytics platform governance.
  • 2+ years of experience with enterprise business or data platforms (such as Salesforce, Clarity PPM, or comparable systems), with demonstrated experience documenting analytics, reporting, or data needs.

The Ideal Qualifications
  • Experience with Tableau or other enterprise BI visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles, metric definitions, and enterprise reporting structures.
  • A highly adaptable professional who demonstrates both depth and breadth of knowledge across all aspects of BIRA, with the ability to connect details to the broader organizational context.
  • Strong understanding of data, reporting dependencies, and how platform changes affect analytics ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and build alignment across diverse business and technology organizations.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

What to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the Team
  • Regular meetings with the Program Management & Alignment team within BIRA.
  • Focused one-on-one meetings with your manager
  • Networking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQIA+, veteran and disability-focused Business Resource Groups
  • Access to learning content on Degreed and other informational platforms
