Description

ATSI is contingently seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer III to serve as a senior technical expert responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining advanced system models in support of complex engineering programs at NSWC Crane. This role applies deep knowledge of MBSE methodologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance system design, validation, and lifecycle management across high-visibility projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of MBSE architectures, models, and workflows for large-scale systems.
  • Apply expert knowledge of MBSE methodologies and frameworks to guide project teams and ensure modeling rigor and consistency.
  • Develop and refine system models using industry-standard MBSE tools and techniques.
  • Utilize Unified Modeling Language (UML) to represent system structures, behaviors, and interactions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to translate system requirements into comprehensive models.
  • Review, validate, and verify system models to ensure traceability, accuracy, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership in MBSE best practices, modeling standards, and tool usage.
  • Support program reviews, technical documentation, and stakeholder communications using model-based artifacts.
  • Ensure model integration across program phases including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and sustainment.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience performing Model Based Systems Engineering in complex engineering environments.
  • Expert knowledge of MBSE methodologies, standards, and frameworks (e.g., SysML-based approaches).
  • Demonstrated expertise with MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with UML for systems modeling and documentation.
  • Active SECRET clearance required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree or Doctorate in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience integrating MBSE into digital engineering ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and technical reviews.
  • Experience leading complex model-based engineering initiatives.
