Job description

Are you ready to drive complex digital initiatives from concept to delivery while helping shape the future of Tax Analysts' products? As an Agile Project Manager on the Product Strategy team, you will be a key delivery leader across our growing digital product portfolio, ensuring that high-impact initiatives move forward with clarity, coordination, and discipline.

In this role, you will manage project execution, including coordinating dependencies, sequencing, budgets, and delivery tradeoffs across multiple concurrent initiatives. You will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, the Development team, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to keep priorities aligned, risks visible, and delivery predictable as business needs evolve.

If you are energized by bringing structure to complexity, helping teams deliver meaningful product outcomes, and ensuring strategic initiatives stay on track, this role is for you.

This is a hands-on delivery role with accountability at both the project and portfolio levels. It is not a Scrum Master role or a position limited to Agile ceremony facilitation or project administration

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage delivery for concurrent digital product initiatives, keeping individual projects on track while coordinating cross-project dependencies, timelines, budgets, priorities, sequencing, and tradeoffs across the broader product portfolio.
  2. Build, maintain, and regularly update project plans, timelines, milestones, dependency maps, and delivery forecasts to ensure work remains organized, visible, and achievable.
  3. Track scope, schedule, budget, capacity, risks, milestones, and dependencies; proactively identify cross-project impacts and escalate issues with clear recommendations.
  4. Coordinate across Product Managers, Business Analysts, the Development team, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment, clarify commitments, and support timely delivery.
  5. Follow up on blockers, open decisions, vendor deliverables, and stakeholder commitments to help keep work moving day to day.
  6. Oversee coordination with external vendors supporting product initiatives, ensuring deliverables, timelines, scope, and budget commitments are met.
  7. Partner with product managers, business analysts, and the development team to align release planning and sprint execution with portfolio priorities.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Editorial, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, to manage shared dependencies and delivery commitments.
  9. Prepare clear status reporting, escalation recommendations, decision logs, and delivery updates for leadership, highlighting project and portfolio-level risks and tradeoffs.
  10. Operate effectively at both the project and portfolio levels, managing day-to-day execution while maintaining visibility into broader roadmap impacts.
  11. Support delivery predictability by identifying risks early, recommending mitigation options, and ensuring decisions and commitments are documented.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and risk management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery environments.
  • Proven ability to manage delivery, sequencing, and tradeoffs without direct people management authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives with shared dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate delivery risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Product, Development, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing clear status reports, decision logs, delivery metrics, and other project documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to bring structure, clarity, and accountability to complex work.
