Air Logistics Aerospace Customer Care Specialist
It's more than a job
As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. And by transporting medicines, toys and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods, you are making small and big moments possible for people all around the world. The Aerospace Customer Care Specialist is responsible for managing the coordination of shipments accurately and timely, meeting customer transit time requirements. The Customer Care Specialist is part of a team (Customer Care Centers) responsible for coordinating transport activities by executing the necessary bookings with our partners and gateways, generating the required documentation, and monitoring each shipment, including deviation handling. You liaise with our customer care specialists to ensure specific requirements are met (Transit Times, Carrier selection, Routings etc.). Securing buy rates (when required), as well as capacity with qualified carriers/partners and or via the KN gateways is critical. When part of a Aerospace specific AOG, Engine or vertical OCC, the responsibilities will extend to also include activities such as spot quoting, customer coordination and end-to-end shipment processing. All activities are to be performed in compliance with rules and regulations governing air transport, industry, and product standards, KN standards and guidelines, and executed via KN operational systems.
How you create impact
  • To manage and perform all customer activities reliably, accurately and on-time, minimizing overdue tasks, and according to defined customer deliverables
  • To follow the communication concept for effective communication with stakeholders
  • To monitor shipments, follow up on all deviations, accurate and timely updates for visibility in KN systems, including financial data, such as costs
  • To review and clarify CCL instructions if there are conflicts or deviations with regulatory requirements, routing, TT, rate information, or other discrepancies
  • To immediately report problems, operational disputes or discrepancies to supervisors or managers
  • To collaborate with all partners/suppliers, gateway, warehouse, customs teams, the RCC, and external parties as needed
  • To monitor operational performance of carriers and other partners and escalate / create awareness if performance and commitments are not being delivered
  • To collaborate with the Optimization Team for most effective process execution and systems setup/automation, maximizing systems utilization and avoiding manual processes is critical
  • To maximize profitability through cost optimization
  • To be part of process improvement identification, and implementing changes
  • To work with Development and Customer Care teams on account implementation, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to operations
  • To arrange spot quotes, shipment creation and end-to-end shipment processing for AOGs, Engines, and other vertical specialized movements as part of an AOG, Engine or vertical Aerospace OCC

What we would like you to bring
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Transportation, Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Minimum of 1+ year of hands-on experience handling the transportation of airplane engines or aircraft parts.
  • Dangerous Goods Certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SALOG and CargoWise systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international geography, including major countries, cities, and airport codes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
