Summary: The Advisor Consultant, serves as a hybrid analytical and consultative role, supporting both the execution of Advanced Planning deliverables and the development of Advisors and Advisor Assistants. This role is responsible for managing case flow within the Advanced Planning queue, delivering high-quality case design and presentation materials, and acting as a key resource for onboarding and training junior or inexperienced Advisors. The Advisor Consultant partners closely with Advanced Planning leadership, Operations, and field teams to provide product guidance, develop training content, and enhance best practices.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Design insurance illustrations and client-ready one-pagers (MassMutual + preferred carriers) using templates and PDF tools; manage revisions, rush requests, and approvals, including complex case support with AVP+
  • Manage Advanced Planning CRM queue, prioritize requests, and drive workflow efficiency and timely completion
  • Provide consultative support to junior Advisors/Advisors Assistant, translating complex insurance concepts into actionable sales guidance
  • Lead and support onboarding, training sessions, job aids, and ongoing field communications for Advisors/Advisors Assistants
  • Support operational improvements, identify trends/gaps, and contribute to scalable tools, reporting, and process enhancements
  • Participate in ad hoc strategic initiatives aligned with Life/DI and broader firm priorities

Job Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of life insurance products, illustration platforms, and case design; working DI knowledge preferred
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Mosaic), Excel, and presentation software
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and how Advanced Planning supports advisor success
  • High analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving in fast-paced environments
  • Clear communicator able to simplify complex concepts for field audiences
  • Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Service-oriented, collaborative, proactive, and continuously improvement-focused
  • Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in all interactions

Requirements & Career Path:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years in insurance, Advanced Planning, or sales support roles
  • Life & Health insurance license required

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-104,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, the skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. The actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
