At The Center for the Advancement of Health IT, (AHIT for short), we make a difference in the lives of others through our consulting and coaching services provided to various healthcare organizations. These are primarily in Florida but we're not limited by geography. We're all about helping physician practices and groups improve performance in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:

We believe every patient, no matter their income, location, ethnicity, religion, etc. deserves the best care available. By working with our clients, we aim to help make sure that happens. It's our mission to provide quality consulting, education, and solutions that foster better care, better health, and a better healthcare system for physicians and the patients they serve.

It's important to know our company has no owner - we are a non-profit, and all client-service profits go back into the company to continue our mission.

Job Description

Job Summary

Succeed through the success of others! There is tremendous opportunity to create small and big "wins" for our clients, many of them in small practices or underserved markets. The country's healthcare system is evolving. Being a positive force of change is the challenge.

The consultant/coach role (aka Advisor) works closely with clients and others on the AHIT team to advance practice and care goals. The majority (like 99%) of the work is done virtually. The job includes providing education and guidance to healthcare organizations in various subject matters (see above list in Overview), understanding their goals, helping them to overcome barriers, and working collaboratively to develop plans of action for a pathway to success!

This is not a road-warrior type job but occasional travel may be necessary (very occasionally!). Our main office is located in St. Pete. Our team consists of in-house staff as well as those who work from private, suitable home offices (if qualified)

Responsibilities and Duties

Here is a high level overview:

Provide recommendations to improve or enhance services to clients.

Provide guidance, advice, and sometimes, a dose of reality, in helping clients achieve success.

Craft high-level, simple project plans based on the needs of each client and their goals.

Assist in the review or development of appropriate policies and procedures for organizations seeking a deeper level of assistance.

Provide expert guidance in the development of systems or tools to improve key, quality or outcome metrics used by healthcare organizations.

Support the implementation of advanced care transformation concepts, including workflow redesigns, Lean Healthcare, and other similar efforts.

Demonstrate and share up-to-date knowledge and expertise in care transformation, quality improvement, or payment-reform initiatives.

Understand clients' challenges, beyond the current engagement, and offer other applicable services for their overall success.

Document client-facing efforts, correspondence, and advice in company-approved systems. (Full disclosure - nobody likes this part of the job, but client's want accountability and they pay for our time and expertise!)

Qualifications

Healthcare Background. Trained, educated, and experienced in any areas related to ambulatory healthcare operations, payment reform, quality, leadership, advancement of electronic health records and other health information technology, compliance, risk management, accreditation, or delivery.

Analytical Thinker/Problem Solver. Ability to visualize, articulate and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems. Gather and analyze information, uncover root causes, and make recommendations for solutions.

Value-Based Leadership. Understanding of coaching, training, facilitation, and/or consulting best practices for enhanced communication, client comprehension and engagement, and demonstrating value.

A-Team Player. This is one of those absolute requirements. An A-Team person skips the excuses, carries themselves with integrity, understands the need for accountability, is a self-starter, is always looking to learn, and strives to meet the needs of the organization and client for overall team-success.

Great Communication Skills a Must. This is another one that we can't budge on. We need people who can write clearly, articulate their points concisely, but who also have the #1 best communication skill of all - listening!
