Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power & Energy Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes for industrial controls and power distribution products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, manufacturing, proficient in CAD systems, PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook in a Windows environment, and experience with ERP systems, and quality assurance to ensure high-quality production standards.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Manufacturing Process Design:
    • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes and reduce waste for low voltage systems, including wiring harnesses, circuit boards, control panels, and other related components.
    • Create and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
    • Follow up on jobs during the initial manufacturing stage to ensure processing; effect revisions to tooling and processing as necessary.
  2. Production Support:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to low voltage products.
    • Collaborate with production teams to improve workflows and address bottlenecks.
  3. Product Development Support:
    • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure manufacturability of new products.
    • Provide feedback on design changes to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Establish quality control measures to ensure products meet technical and safety standards.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production defects.
  5. Process Optimization:
    • Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and scalability.
    • Introduce automation or advanced manufacturing techniques where applicable.
    • Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  6. Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
    • Stay updated on advances in low voltage technology and manufacturing techniques.
    • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.

What we need you to have:

  1. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with low voltage switchboard, switchgear, panelboards, MCC.
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in CAD, MS Office software for designing and analyzing manufacturing layouts.
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems, low voltage components, and circuit design.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  3. Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety standards.
