Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive administrative and operational support for Human Resources functions within the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for supporting payroll administration, recruiting and onboarding, employee records management, employee engagement initiatives, benefits administration, workforce reporting, and HR compliance activities. The HR Generalist serves as a key resource for employees and managers, ensuring efficient execution of HR processes while maintaining compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll & Timekeeping Administration
  • Monitor and audit timekeeping and attendance by reviewing daily timecards, maintaining tracking systems, and conducting weekly payroll and attendance audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Process payroll transactions and updates, including transfer hours, bonuses, retroactive and call-in pay, merit increases, garnishments, Wisely pay cards, and schedule changes.
  • Ensure scheduling, overtime, and time-off compliance by reviewing employee schedules, approving time-off requests, and addressing discrepancies with supervisors and managers.
  • Prepare, finalize, and submit payroll documentation by maintaining audit-ready records, generating reports, and coordinating final payroll submission to Corporate Payroll.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring processes, including requisition creation, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer management.
  • Manage candidate experience and onboarding, including interview scheduling, communication, pre-employment requirements, and new hire onboarding logistics.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation programs while ensuring compliance with employment documentation requirements such as I-9 verification.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and staffing data, including employee files, HRIS updates, and staffing rosters for leadership visibility.
  • Support recruiting initiatives and employer branding, including job fairs, facility tours, and internal communications such as employee photos and announcements.

Employee Administration & HR Record Keeping
  • Provide comprehensive HR administrative support, including maintaining personnel records, assisting with HR systems access, and supporting employee inquiries.
  • Manage onboarding logistics and materials, including preparation of new hire supplies and coordination of onboarding resources.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, ensuring proper documentation, confidentiality, and adherence to record retention requirements.
  • Process employee lifecycle documentation, including timely and accurate handling of terminations and associated paperwork.
  • Support departmental operations, including ordering supplies and providing administrative assistance to leadership and teams.
  • Generate and analyze workforce reports, including staffing, recruiting, and attendance data to support leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance and audit readiness, monitoring data accuracy and supporting HR audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards.

Employee Relations & Employee Engagement
  • Support the HR Business Partner with employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Assist in planning as well as participate in employee events, wellness fairs, benefits fairs, and holiday celebrations.
  • Promote positive employee relations through responsive support and communication.

Benefits & Employment Administration
  • Process and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Assist employees with general benefits-related questions and administrative requests.
  • Support annual enrollment and benefits communication activities as needed.

Workers' Compensation & Safety Support
  • Compile and submit monthly hours-worked reports for hourly and salaried employees to support safety reporting requirements.
  • Assist with administrative aspects of workers' compensation and safety documentation as assigned.

Work Environment
  • This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments and requires frequent interaction with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, multi-location, and corporate HR personnel.
