Job description

THE POSITION Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. If so, the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System ("PMRS") has an opportunity for you.

PMRS is seeking a skilled and organized Administrative Assistant to provide vital support to our daily operations. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Our Vision - To be Pennsylvania local governments' pension administrator of choice. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role provides essential administrative support that helps maintain accurate pension documents, ensures timely communication, and keeps key processes organized. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties: Plan Document Coordination: Coordinate pension plan documents and support procedures that ensure consistent compliance with program requirements Document Management: Maintain organized electronic files, review materials, and support staff with proper document handling practices Member Updates: Process demographic changes and review correspondence to confirm accuracy and completeness Benefit Payroll Support: Review payroll information, verify financial details, and track undeliverable or missing payments Life Event Processing: Prepare benefit documents and communications related to retirement, survivor circumstances, and other major life changes Research and Reporting: Gather information, analyze policies, and prepare records and reports for staff, management, and external partners Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, two days a week in the office after successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
