Position Summary:
The Activities Director plans, organizes, supervises, and directs all administrative and operational activities of the Activities Department. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Activities Department and make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development, implementation, supervision, and ongoing evaluation of the activities program designed to meet the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of our residents

  • Supervise the scheduling of activities, including individual and group programs, and ensure that each resident is offered at least one cognitive activity, two recreational activities, and three ADL activities daily

  • Ensure the safety of residents during activities and monitor the use of harmful items

  • Establish and oversee the Resident Council, including documentation of meeting minutes and concerns expressed

  • Perform a variety of administrative functions, including staff orientation, policy development, and employee performance evaluations

  • Oversee the facility's volunteer program and supervise student practices in Leisure Studies and related educational areas

  • Monitor the schedule and services provided by the Beauty Shop Operators

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or registered, if applicable, by the state in which practicing as an Activities Director

  • 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program

  • Completed a training course approved by the State
