JBS Plainwell is hiring an Accounting Supervisor Trainee to work with our Plainwell team. The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of accounting or finance experience. Come work with JBS! Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all accounting and financial aspects of the plant
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to SOX and internal policies
  • Manage end-to-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, improve revenues and seek best practices
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and procedures to verify compliance
  • Coordinate with internal personnel and third parties as needed including peer managers, clerical staff, corporate staff and leaders, auditors, attorneys and government
  • Assist with establishing budgets by creating schedules, collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data
  • Supervise and motivate staff to ensure successful completion of accounting duties and reports
  • Assure the duties, responsibilities and authority of each job are clearly defined, effective and communicated to incumbents
  • Monitor the performance of direct reports
  • Estimate weekly plant expenses
  • Estimate weekly plant P&L
  • Adhere to routine deadlines
  • Special projects as required

Qualifications:
-Must be able to relocate within the U.S.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or similar program preferred.
• 3+ years' experience in Accounting or Finance; preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP software; SAP preferred
• Intermediate to advanced skill level with MS Excel
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast paced, change-driven environment.
-Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end procedures
• Timely, responsive, accurate, and detail oriented in all written and verbal communication
• Able to manage through complex issues by asking the right questions, utilizing resources, and gathering data to triage and solve problems
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Good interpersonal savvy - able to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
