Position Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role plays a key part in month-end close activities, financial analysis, and maintaining the integrity of financial data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare journal entries and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or variances.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and expense tracking.
  • Support ERP system transactions and financial data management.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar is preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of ERP/accounting systems.
