Client Accounting Services Accountant

As a Client Accounting Services Accountant, you will work directly with clients to prepare financial statements that help owners and managers achieve their operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Accounting:

  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
  • Generate and analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Document work effectively and comprehensively.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve client and engagement issues in a timely and organized manner.
  • Apply knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting principles.

Payroll & Sales Tax Compliance:

  • Understand and apply Iowa sales and use tax regulations.
  • File monthly sales tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Maintain general knowledge of Federal, State, and Unemployment payroll taxes.
  • Record and manage monthly payroll entries.

Client Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and collaboration.

Technology and Process Development:

  • Utilize strong computer and software skills to enhance efficiency.
  • Learn and adapt to new software, identifying opportunities for process improvements.

General Skills:

  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple priorities and complete projects within established deadlines.

Ideal Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
