Job Title: Accounting Intern

Division: Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)

Location: Pella, IA - Onsite

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Status: Internship

Travel Required: 0-5%

Reports To: Accounting Manager


PURPOSE OF POSITION

Serves as a contributing member of the Accounting Team, assisting with day-to-day reporting, month-end close, and other tasks. Works on projects to improve processes, analyze data and reports, and learn systems. The intern experience is designed to apply accounting principles and other classroom learnings to real problems while developing problem-solving and communication skills in order to experience what a career in accounting is like.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the Accounting intern will:

  • Assist with financial statement analysis and other reporting
  • Prepare and distribute Daily Cash reporting
  • Analyze inventory reports
  • Assist with month-end close procedures
  • Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned (will vary based on business needs)
  • Communicate positively with supervisors, coworkers, and internal/external customers


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university in an accounting degree
  • Strong academic candidate, demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Preference for completion of Intermediate Accounting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work and communicate with many people at varying levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of professionalism/strong communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Teamwork and leadership experiences in academic, athletic, and/or off-campus activities
  • Previous work experience preferred
