Job description

Midwest Microwave Solutions, Inc. is currently recruiting an Accounting Manager. MMS designs, manufactures, and sells front-end RF and Microwave hardware used in the defense and electronics industries.

The successful candidate will oversee the full accounting cycle while partnering closley with operations and HEICO's corporate finance team.  This individual must be comfortable working in a small company environment and be willing to conduct all aspects of the job from Accounts Payable/Receiveable to supporting operations with product/cost analysis. This position reports directly to the President of MMS, with a dotted line relationship to the parent company; HEICO Electronic Technologies Vice President; Accounting & Finance.

In this position, the Accounting Manager will likely:

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the month end close, including preparation of journal entries and the financial statements.
  • Manage and reconcile all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset management, etc. within the company, including performing AR collections, AP vouchering, and check runs.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare supporting schedules required by HEICO for internal and external (SEC) reporting and for use in the preparation of the tax provision and tax return
  • Work with HEICOs Internal Audit to ensure that appropriate financial and IT controls are in place and are in compliance with 404 SOX requirements.
  • Provide financial, administrative, and operational support, particularly in the areas of cost and inventory control as well as process improvement.
  • Analyze product/job cost trends and determine potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with the identification and implementation of a fully integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
  • Other related ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary.

Requirements/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
  • Public accounting background, CPA or Masters Degree, a definite plus
  •  Ten to twelve years of relevant experience, including familiarity with principles of cost accounting as well as lean manufacturing and related performance
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of all aspects of accounting, financial analysis and planning    including forecasting, budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, cash flow analysis, cost reduction initiatives, capital evaluation and justification, internal controls, and cost accounting.
  • Experience with implementing an ERP, a definite plus
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees of all levels, including HEICOs senior management team
  • Highly responsive to requests, with a high attention for detail and accuracy
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment
