Senior Accountant (Temp-to-Perm, Contract, or Direct Hire)

The Cyperus Group, a New York City-based staffing and recruiting firm, is currently representing a client seeking an experienced Senior Accountant. This opportunity is available on either a direct-hire, temp-to-perm, or contract basis.


Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform variance analysis, budgeting support, and forecasting activities
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Oversee AP/AR, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and revenue recognition processes
  • Support tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and internal controls
  • Partner with management on financial reporting and business decisions
  • Mentor and assist junior accounting staff as needed
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or SAP
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

  • Direct Hire: $85,000 - $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Contract / Temp-to-Perm: $40.00 - $55.00 per hours
