Role Overview

• Position: Government Grants Analyst
• Reports to: Director of Government Grants
• Focus: grant accounting, billing, budgeting, and compliance

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly billing reports for agencies (DHS, HASA, DOHMH, NYS AIDS Institute)
• Manage a portfolio of government contracts
• Track and ensure proper allocation of expenses and revenues across grants
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Partner with Accounts Payable and program teams
• Ensure full contract utilization and compliance with government regulations
• Support timely submission of reports and financial documentation
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3–5 years experience in government grants/contracts accounting
• Experience in a nonprofit (multi-service preferred)
• Strong skills in:
• Analytics
• Attention to detail
• Financial reporting
• Proficiency in:
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Google tools
• Experience with Financial Edge (preferred)
