Job description

Location
  • Hybrid: This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with regular attendance at our South Salt Lake City, UT office.
About the role:

PDQ's Corporate Accounting team owns the numbers behind the business: the monthly

close, payroll and tax compliance, and the technical accounting that keeps PDQ audit-

ready. As a Staff Accountant on this team, you'll support close, reconciliations, and payroll

processing while getting exposure to sales and income tax, revenue, and equity

compensation accounting. You'll report within Corporate Accounting and work directly

with the Controller's team to keep PDQ's books accurate and ready for our auditors and PE

sponsors.

Why the role matters:

In this role, you'll help keep PDQ's financial close accurate and on time, directly supporting

the reporting our leadership, auditors, and board rely on.

How you might spend your day:
  • Prepare and review month-end close deliverables, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and Floqast checklist items
  • Support multi-entity payroll processing: PTO reporting, payroll tax, benefits reconciliation, and equity/ETU agreements
  • Own sales tax compliance in Avalara and Taxually, and support income tax, transfer pricing, and VAT filings
  • Build budget-vs-actual and flux analyses that help finance leadership understand the story behind the numbers
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and support NetSuite administration as PDQ's ERP system of record
  • Support revenue and deal desk processes, including multi-year deal reviews and commission calculations
  • Contribute to technical accounting projects covering equity compensation, capitalized software, goodwill impairment, and R&D credit
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Payroll, and the Controller's team
  • Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and strategic goals
  • Support continuous improvement through feedback, learning, and innovation
We're looking for people who have: Must Have:
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, public accounting or corporate accounting background preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and the month-end close process
  • Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite preferred, and account reconciliation tools
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with high volumes of transactional data
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Nice to Have:
  • CPA license or actively pursuing one
  • Experience with multi-entity or international consolidations
  • Exposure to equity compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), or purchase accounting (ASC 805)
  • Experience with Floqast, Avalara, or similar close and tax automation tools
Who you are:
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in evolving environments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Comfortable owning detail-heavy, recurring processes and keeping them accurate under deadline.
  • Eager to use AI and automation to eliminate manual work and improve how the team operates.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Why You'll Love Working at PDQ:

PDQ offers all of the great perks and benefits you'd expect from working at a very cool tech company, and even some you might not expect, including:

  • 4-Day Work Week
  • Equity Participation
  • Managers who champion professional development
  • 100% Premium Coverage for medical, dental and vision for you and your dependents
  • 100% Premium Coverage for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • Company Match of the first 6% of your employee deferrals
  • Flexible Paid Time Off Policy that treats you like the adult that you are
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and wellness incentives
  • Quarterly Company Values Award (team member nominated)

Work Authorization and Sponsorship
