POSITION: Magnet Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO: School Principal
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Magnet Program Coordinator provides leadership in implementing the school's approved Magnet Grant by coordinating theme-based programming, instructional partnerships, student recruitment, community engagement, and school-wide magnet initiatives. Working collaboratively with the principal, teachers, district departments, and community partners, the Coordinator ensures fidelity to the school's magnet theme while supporting increased student achievement, enrollment, innovation, and family engagement.
The Coordinator is responsible for supporting requests from the Enrollment and Choice Office pertaining to grants, enrollment, and acceptance processes. At the school level, the Coordinator oversees the development and implementation of the onboarding process by being accessible to prospective students and families, tracking and collecting data, and preparing reports on enrollment and outreach activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Development
Support the development of comprehensive strategic plans for magnet school recruitment and enrollment, ensuring alignment with district educational objectives and school needs
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop marketing and outreach strategies to promote magnet school programs to students, parents, and community stakeholders
- Organize information sessions, school tours, and recruitment events to showcase magnet school offerings
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses, universities, and community organizations to support magnet programs
- Gather and analyze feedback from students, parents, teachers, and administrators to continuously improve magnet school programs as well as the lottery, acceptance, and onboarding process.
Resource Allocation and Management
- Manage budgetary processes for magnet school recruitment
- Identify and secure grant funding and additional resources to support innovative magnet school programs
- Develop comprehensive reporting mechanisms to track program performance and resource effectiveness
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Maintain detailed documentation of program development, implementation, and outcomes
- Conduct regular program audits to ensure grant implementation and recruitment efforts are effective
- Stay current with educational policies, regulations, and best practices relevant to magnet school programming
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES OF IDEAL CANDIDATE:
โข Bachelor's degree in education, marketing, public relations, or related field
โข Experience in program development, preferably in urban school districts
โข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
โข Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multifaceted initiatives
โข Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving
โข Strong project management capabilities
โข Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
โข Data-driven decision-making approach
โข Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups
โข Advanced technological proficiency

โข Ability to coordinate recruitment efforts and attend recruitment events that may occur outside the school day, including evenings and weekends
โข Perform other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
โข Experience with magnet school or specialized educational program design

โข Grant writing and fundraising experience
โข Background in data analysis
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Current Connecticut certification as a Teacher with Highly Qualified Status in appropriate grade levels, preferred but not required
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This non-bargaining position has a 12-Month work year. Occasional evening and weekend work for community events and meetings is required. Travel within the school district is also required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 (Grant Funded)
