Job Description

Veterinary Neurologist - Animal Emergency & Referral Associates (AERA) - West Caldwell, NJ

Animal Emergency & Referral Associates (AERA) in West Caldwell, New Jersey is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Neurologist to join our growing specialty and emergency hospital.

Since opening in 1977 as an after-hours emergency clinic, AERA has evolved into a leading multi-specialty referral center dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting advanced veterinary medicine. In 2021, we opened a state-of-the-art 45,000-square-foot facility designed to support collaboration, innovation, and clinical excellence.

Our hospital is home to specialists in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Surgery, supported by a highly skilled 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care team. Doctors have access to advanced technology including on-site MRI, CT, Varian Halcyon linear accelerator, C-Arm, and other cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

We are seeking a clinician who is passionate about practicing high-quality medicine and committed to compassionate patient care, collaboration, communication, and mentorship. Whether you are an experienced specialist or a doctor completing residency training, AERA offers the support, resources, and caseload needed to build a rewarding and successful career.

West Caldwell offers the best of both worlds - located just 25 miles from New York City with an easy reverse commute, while also providing quick access to the mountains, lakes, and outdoor recreation of northern New Jersey. Newark International Airport is less than 30 minutes away, making travel convenient. The area also offers excellent schools, diverse dining, and vibrants communities.

We offer a highly competitive compensation package including:

  • Competitive base salary plus production opportunity
  • Exceptional earning potential
  • Generous sign-on bonus and relocation assistance
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Generous PTO and CE allowance
  • Professional growth and leadership opportunities within Ethos Veterinary Health

The compensation range for this role typically falls between $250,000 - $300,000 depending on experience, credentials, and schedule.

Ethos Veterinary Health, part of the NVA Group, is where you come to practice world-class medicine, and help shape what veterinary care becomes next.

Across our network of 140 specialty and emergency hospitals, science moves forward, standards are elevated, and innovation is put into practice every day. You'll work alongside respected veterinary leaders in academic-caliber hospitals designed for learning, teaching, and discovery.

Here, mentorship is a two-way street. You'll share the expertise, learn from others, and continue to grow, clinically, professionally, and personally.

At Ethos, you inspire hope, deliver exceptional core care, and pursue veterinary medicine at its highest level, together.

Benefits for this role may include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement benefits, paid time off (including sick leave and vacation), short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
