Job description

Classified Position: Burket Office Instructional Assistant


Building: Burket Educational Center


Hours: 5 hours 45 minutes per day, Monday-Friday


Hourly Rate: $13.80


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students
  • Neat appearance
  • Positive attitude
  • Passion for working with and helping students


Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and manage the front office area
  • Greet students, parents, staff, and visitors
  • Assist students who are late, ill, or need to leave early
  • Help manage visitor check-ins/check-outs and student dismissals
  • Coordinate with the nurse’s office or counselors when needed
  • Manage and administer medications when needed
  • Keep student attendance and safety drill records.
  • Assist teacher with recording student progress data
  • Update and file student enrollment and academic records
  • Handle confidential files and documents
  • Support student’s learning needs on APEX and Edmentum courses (resetting tests, chart progress and monitor unit completion.)
  • Supervise students in the hallways, cafeteria and classroom
  • Perform other reasonably-related clerical duties as may be assigned by the teacher or program director.
